Daniel E. Peters - President

Dan began his career in the construction industry in 1973 at the age of 18 as an ironworker for a metal building company in Michigan. He moved to Manitowoc, Wisconsin in the spring of 1974 and worked as a laborer for George Sollitt Construction Company (a Chicago firm) who was constructing the new sewage treatment plant in Manitowoc. He worked for them until the end of the project in the fall of 1977. Shortly thereafter he went to work for a local general contractor, Wall-Rich Construction Company, as a laborer. He was offered and successfully completed a carpentry apprenticeship program and became a Project Superintendent in 1984. Dan quickly assumed a lead role for them in their field operations. He was promoted to Office Manager and Project Estimator in the fall of 1988. In 1991, he purchased one-half of the stock in the corporation and was unanimously elected President by their Board of Directors. His duties as President included managing their work force of Masons, Carpenters, and Laborers (they had a total crew of about 60), managing all corporate assets, assembling project bids, directing all subcontractors and vendors, conducting project meetings, managing customer and employee relations, and negotiating contracts. Wall-Rich had been doing approximately $2 million in annual sales before Dan became President. Within three years, the firm's annual sales rose to over $15 million. In 2002, Dan sold his shares in the company to pursue other ventures.

In 2005, after a successful two-year tenure as a project manager and sales representative for Sheboygan, WI—based Joseph Schmitt & Sons Construction Co., Dan founded Peters Construction Services to better serve the area’s needs in the construction industry while continuing to use his unique skills in construction management and consulting. Dan is currently a member of The Chamber of Manitowoc County and the Construction Management Association of America. Dan lives in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. He has two sons, Adam and Andy, with whom he spends as much time as possible. Adam has assumed the role of Vice President of Peters Construction Services and Andy currently attends the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Dan enjoys service work, reading, travel, music, and visiting and chatting with friends and strangers alike.
